Today in class we discussed the ambulance drivers and the poem The Wast Land by Eliot, followed by a very lively and fun discussion which I always enjoy. I actually didn't like the poem that much. Although I can appreciate Eliot vast knowledge on millions of subjects, I'm still not sure why he made so difficult for people to understand his point. ( Read more... )

On Thursday afternoon I had a chance to go see the movie and I'm very glad I did. This is a fantastic film, showcasing the courage, perseverance of a group of African American during the war and all the obstacles and discrimination they had to go through to make it as great pilots. even if I saw different movies on slavery and studied it in school ( some time ago ),it is still a very tough subject for me. I can't help feeling terrible for the way african were treated . All those little children suffering and the agony and desperation of the parents no being able to fully protect their children.....such a tragedy.
