On Sunday my husband and I got up early and drove down to the Samye Ling Center for lunch. I managed to walk around the hall with the prayer wheels and a small amount in the garden. The temple had a course going, so we didn't get to go in and sit. But it was still a nice visit

I had a wonderful experience sitting in meditation with a group in the basement of a UU church that had something of the effect you're talking about on me. I think about going back from time to time, but the business of life and the fact that other sessions didn't have nearly the same effect have kept me from it. Maybe one of these days. It feels really good, to be self-aware, that way, for a while.

You will find the place that is best for you and learn from it. When you are ready. I came into Buddhism late in life after growing up mostly pagan.
