You guys have a great time on your trip! If you decide to vamoose for a day if anything gets roasted that shouldn't get roasted, consider wandering into Portland (if you'll have access to a vehicle and will be close enough). There's an older section of the city that's quite nice and the city seems to have a couple of vegan-friendly restaurants and cafes. http://www.happycow.net/north_america/usa/maine/portland/

There's also a brick oven pizza place near the docs that has a vegan, cheeseless pizza. I forget the name, though... perhaps it's Brick Oven Pizza?

I've been to a pig roast before. It's just as macabe as you might imagine. What's sad is that I did enjoy it at the time. I don't know how I managed to love animals while cheerfully eating them all those years.
