When a puppy is chewing... say... an electrical wire, you walk up to him, say "No!" in a sharp tone, bop him on the nose with your finger and push him back. School has only been in session for a week and a half and already I've taken part in several nurture vs. nature debates with classmates. I'm amazed at how many think of genes only in terms of predisposition to disease or motor development. I love that everything we need is within walking/biking distance from our home. I bought a basket for my bike and used it today to go get some things from the grocery store. It was great! Shiva is here and she is stressed out. She spent five days in a kennel (she's never been caged or in a kennel in her life), then 10 hours in the car with a complete stranger, and now, most of the night at our place.
