It's funny, it's enjoyable even when you know how it eventually ends. I always enjoy the original stories on a reread. The characters are just so much fun to be with.

Oh this is so painful to read! It's just so heartbreaking! I hope he doesn't have the three years to wait! They haven't had as much time together so maybe it won't be as much time apart? I know that's pushing it but still I'm hoping to easy John's pain. John only just meet not to long ago, John has only just started to heal from his wounds from the war so this will really throw him back.

I like your reasoning! And the war wounds-- I hadn't really thought that through. Yes, this is probably going to send John right back into hideous nightmares, as well as punishing him with guilt.
