When I'm home, I typically leave the door propped so they can go in and out. We both like to check up on each other periodically. They tend to stick near home, but that doesn't help if the wildlife comes right up the sidewalk! I saw a proper coyote trotting up my sidewalk in full light of morning. This one was small-- kind of a coyote/fox thing. My neighbor's seen it, too. It's a small, whitish coyote, we think. It's too big for a fox.

Ooh, lovely and ominous. It feels like life!
I'll try to convince my cats to be less reckless. What goofy boys! Cheers! *mwhah* back!
Well, that remains to be seen. I can't imagine a long-term relationship with a 12-pound cat chasing a 40-pound coyote. Yes, I was certainly scared-- but Knightley was proud. His human had shown up, so he was going to kick some coyote butt! (the little dumbo!)
I think this is more Sam charging Cirith Ungol cat-- you have to kind of count on the coyote taking itself out of the picture, if you know what I mean...
Knightley sure thought so. He smugged his way all the way back to the house. Cats love it when their humans show up. "Heh. Look what _I_ got, ya loser!" *facepalm*
