decisions, decisions, decisions

G-D it feels good to admit to yourself what it is that you want!!! I always used to get aggravated at people who walk around in circles saying they don't KNOW what to do, they don't know which decision is right for them, what it is that they WANT to do and so on. YES, you do, just ADMIT IT TO YOURSELF!! ADMIT that you have reached a decision and ( Read more... )

I've become wary of being so exhaulted over "deciding" what I want or don't want, because that actually becomes apparent post-factum. Often enough I've wanted things...oh how sure I was that I wanted them! ;). And you know what happened? I GOT them :) and then I was no longer so sure I wanted them... There are plenty of people whose "I don't know what I want" is simply "малодушье", but there are plenty who say that and really AREN'T sure. One can be honest with oneself in saying that he/she doesn't know what they want. It IS an actual state of mind. Just like there are people who say they know exactly what they want and mean it, and plenty of those who say it because they are afraid of honestly facing a choice or a decision that is a difficult one to make. So they lie to themselves and others and vehemently take a side, so as not to show/face the internal strife over this or that.
Just defending the range of human emotion here ;)

Mil chel, a ya Vas znayu?? (prosto lubopitno)

as to being actually unsure of what it is that you want, it is my belief that the state of "unsureness" can not last for long. you KNOW whether you want something or not pretty fast. whether you admit it to yourself (or others) is a different question. but you, for yourself KNOW. and as far as getting to the end of something and realizing that is not what you want, i can definetely believe that, however, then you KNOW for sure. and for me personally, i'm a firm believer that life's too short for regrets. and what if's. you start doubting something, you look at it, weighg all ups and downs, and you face up to what you feel. whatever your decision is, it's right for YOU at that moment in time. take it... if it's not thte riggh decision in the long run, you will have a chance to go back. very few decisions are non-reversible.

No, I do not believe we know each other. Although 80% of people who meet me for the first time say "I've seen you before", so who knows ( ... )

i will not argue with you over whether i'm on the extreme side of Quixotic mind-set or not, as that is hardly the point (though i disagree) nor will i engage in a debate about one disposition versus the other as that would take too long and is by no means an lj discussion, however, i do disagree on the irreversibility of actions.

It might lead you on a detour, it might take some time (and work) to get back to where you were, but if you're determined, you can do it. you CAN step into the same river twice... not in the same spot, but DEF. in the same river. this is what makes life exciting! the detours along the river of life :-P and "you can always go home"...
