Well, I got some exciting news today! My friend's experiment is in Holland, and she needs some extra help during her beam time in February and March. Since I've been marginally involved in her advisor's research before, he's familiar with me and said I could come along and help for a couple of weeks! Things I am loving right now:
- Netflix! My friend referred me so I got a free month and she got a free rental. I started it last Saturday, and got my first movies on Tuesday (they were shipped Monday). Apparently there's a shipping site in Raleigh, so we get stuff really fast. I sent one movie back yesterday and they received it today and shipped out my next one, which will ( Read more... )

I had The Conversation with my advisor yesterday and he thinks I can defend my thesis by December 2009!!!! As anxious as I was to know what he thought, now I'm kind of freaking out. I think it can be done, but I have a lot of work to do. -

Sorry I haven't really been posting much these days. We had a bout of productivity in my group and got one paper published and one paper is being refereed. Very exciting! Then my advisor told me yesterday that he wants me to write another one for Nuclear Instruments and Methods about the mine setup. Good times ( Read more... ) -

This has been a very media-oriented weekend. I have watched a lot of TV and movies! I haven't seen a lot of movies in the past few months, so this was a nice change.
