At which point I feel the need to point out that yes, I am eating out quite often, yes I do game this to the point where it`s more or less averahing out at Wetherspoons prices, no I don`t have a car, no I don`t have a drug habit, alcoholism not withstanding, no I don`t have a clothing budget per se - as if anyone who had ever met me needed that ( Read more... )

Sounds ace. Know what you mean about the service thing. Been to two of Msrco's eateries and while the food was perhaps the best I've ever eaten I'd avoid them as the experience was terrible. On the other hand I once dropped something in a Chinese in Soho and by the time I'd registered I'd done so and reached down for it a helping staff member was handing it up to me. I never even saw them.

Teach us how to Blag, oh Blagmeister, for we are poor and cannot afford such jail-based luxuries without your secret knowledge.

well, for those who have taken against the many voucher schemes, toptable do pretty good deals as well. I think first time I went to silk aeons ago was via them doing a 50% off thing. This time I believe it was something that popped on on Travel Zoos 20 best deals of the week thing a few months back which I availed myself of. For all of it`s evils, London does seem to lend itself to doing stuff on the cheap of you can be arsed. Although sadly I fear Batman Live is not going to offering me free tickets any time soon : (

Although if you just want to sit in the jail cells, wander in check if ones free and buy a pint ;-)

Obviously if I keep this up I`ll be properly blagging, as surely there are no end of establishments who would fall over themselves to have me be needlessly sweary about them.

We usually eat at 5.30/6 so I don't have to hang around too long after work; is that a bit early for you?

On the other hand, I can let you know when I'm killing time near your work if you want to stick your head out the door!

You should always definitely let me know if you're near work :)

If I have notice, I can get away earlier, just put extra hours in before/after, would be happy to do so if it means nice foods!

xx

There can be notice, as these things generally require booking. On the other hand, acquiring vouchers generally happens sometime in advance, so there would also need to be either excessive coordination or you paying full price for your nice foods. :-S
