Rain.
So that rain that was so beautiful yesterday when I posted turned into a massive thunderstorm which hit eastern Melbourne real hard. Heaps of suburbs had flash flooding and everything. Rain ended up sneaking under the door out back, Jane and I were throwing towels under doors, blocking window sills, mopping floors etc etc. It was all a bit much ( Read more... ) -

it's raining about as hard as it ever does in Australia right now. The sound is so amazing, almost like encore-pleading applause from a desperate crowd. It's not windy outside at all either. Apparently, the creators were unaware of the Portuguese meaning of the song used in the commercial. The language is street slang, apparently many people fluent in Portuguese don't understand this song. The translation is as follows:

When I go to work and hear that 18 year olds are voting Liberal (yes, that's big-L) and don't give a fuck, it really frustrates me. Basically all they are doing is cancelling my fucking vote.

All this talk about the election in the last few weeks has been very interesting.. One thing that's really surprised me is how so many people's views are based purely on what they see on TV - usually political campaigns - or get in their damn letter box.
