Very windy last night and today. Sod's Law because I was having two 8 foot X 4 foot sheets of polystyrene and several sheets of plasterboard delivered. Getting the sheets off the lorry proved fun. Waiting for the chimney sweep to arrive.

Today I planted twenty yew trees in the garden. Phew! I'm so unfit. Back hurts from digging.

Twenty sounds a lot, but they are tightly planted and going to form a low (ish) hedge either side of the footpath.

More skirting board and architrave delivered this morning. Door removed from frame in attic ready so I can get all this extra timber in.

Had a call from the Royal Veterinary College. The results are in on the post mortem. Short version is, it was a very aggressive cancer.

Strange sort of relief knowing.

Just got a cheque from the insurance company covering what I paid to the local vet for Amber's care. It's a relief to say the least. Presumably they won't be able to wriggle out of paying the Royal Veterinary College now they've accepted this part of the claim. Now if every other bugger would pay me what I'm owed things would be really peachy ( Read more... )
