I didn't see anything, but maybe you want to check, since you have a slightly better idea of what to look for.

It would probably help a lot if you had any other details. Was it an American author? Did he die recently, like in the last decade, or was this a while ago? I dunno. Half the stuff in that list isn't in english, and it got really depressing, so I really just skimmed through it quickly. A lot of them were ww2 era authors, too, so you know. Even more sad. x.x;

I think he was American, yes. And it was recent! In the last 15 years or so since HE was updating the site himself until he was gone. It wasn't a postmortem publish.

Maybe if these were organized by year :x

no clue, but Alan Moore (V for Vendetta, Watchmen, etc.) once wrote a story called Mister Miracle that sounded kind of like that, but it was all in all a strange reimagining of Captain Marvel.
