Kat was home for the weekend, and I just dropped her off at the "Chinatown bus" down in Chinatown for her ride back to school.  The fare is only $20 each way to Baltimore, which is so very reasonable ( Read more... )

I love New York City. When I lived in Long Island, that was one of the reasons I even stayed up there for as long as did. It's a neat place, wild with bewilderment. I lived in Baltimore, too, for a while. I lived in Arbutus, Hunt Valley, Sparks, and Ellicot City. I surely enjoyed my time there. It wasn't long, as it may seem, but I really loved it.

I made friends for a life time from there (Baltimore).

Yes, it is a wonderland, really, and certainly takes its place among the great world cities of all time! :)

Kat actually said she is liking Baltimore better now! It is just the college that bothers her. Sally and I told her today that if she learned to drive this summer we would get her a car, and then she could take exchange classes with other colleges in the area, like Johns Hopkins! ;) At least we put the offer out there, she still is sorting through a lot of options.

Goucher College. Seems really nice from a parent's point of view, but of course I am not enrolled! ;)

One day I am going to New York - my son is going in August as the start of his trek around North & South America.......one day it will be my turn.
