Leaves Out, and Smelling Good!

May 18, 2008 22:12

Took my first trip to Harriman Park since the leaves are fully out, and although cloudy and overcast, I walked up the old Silver Mine ski hill and had lunch atop the hill, looking out at the forest and the budding blueberry bushes nearby within the understory ( Read more... )

Oh yay! You're back in the park!!

I absolutely love my rain jacket. It was by far the most useful item of clothing I had with me in college, especially on those days we had two hour marching band rehearsals in the rain! My hiking boots were good too! Go waterproofing!

Waterproofing is the best! :)

I barely at the last minute packed the yellow rain jacket for our trip to Nice, because the weather forecast was for sunny weather! Wrong!! I should know better than to trust the weather report, which is correct only a random sampling of the time! ;) It was cold and rainy, and that jacket saved my skin, so to speak! ;)

Spring walks are the best! The colors, the aromas, everything bright and new...there's nothing like it.

Glad you got out to play!
=D

It is so nice to get out and play! At least with your dogs you are "forced" to go out, so that works well at least during these nice days! ;)

That sounds so pleasantly gentle:) I envy you.
Are you allowed to pick wild blueberries in the Park? That would be close to my idea of heaven..

Over here we just had three days of torrential rainstorms. I poked my head out into the sunshine and looked around the garden earlier today. It's like a steaming jungle out there. Everything has grown at least three feet!

Spring rains do so give plants a huge incentive to grow quickly! :)

And I pick a few blueberries now and then and just eat them on the spot! That seems to work well! :)

I love bats, We don't get many here though.
When I was in England over the last school year one lived in the church tower right near my dorm room window and I saw him flying at night all through april. :)

That is great! :)

There was a small brown bat that used to circle the suburban neighborhood I live in for the past several years, but I have not seen him this year. Hopefully he is OK!
