I've been pretty much totally absent from LJ since before the holidays and have missed lots and lots of birthdays - I hope everone enjoyed their days!

I see lots & lots on your list that I've read - will browse for more ideas. Thank you so much! :-) I joined Shelfari a couple of weeks ago, but have had little time to explore it. Now that I'm checking out some people's shelves I'll probably end up over there for hours. Such is the internet!!

Shelfari might help you a bit with those book recs. All I've had time to do with it so far is to snag books that I've read (or have sitting on nightstand...) from other friend's lists. When that's all done, I'll have to bite the bullet and wander around the house entering titles. Most of our books are boxed up right now while we work on the basement, so it's going to be along slow process.

Having daughter and grandchildren far away must be difficult. But that's our modern world, alas. I dread the day that one of mine moves so far away that we can't see them whenever we want to. Right now, one lives two hours away and even that is frustrating at times. :) I'm glad you had such a nice long visit over the holidays. Things like that will help keep you part of your grandchildren's lives.

I'm trying to get some books onto my shelves at Shelfari today. I don't know much about the site yet, but there seem to be possibilities. :-)

Are you remodeling? I feel like I lived through about 20 years of that - and I don't miss the disarray that accompanies it at all!

Along with planning my next trip to Montana, The Daughter and I got webcams for each other for Christmas. Unfortunately, her computer is acting up right now so we haven't been able to give them a try, but I hope they'll help Sienna remember me a little between visits. I'm looking forward to reading her stories with it as well.

Sounds as though you've had some great family times over the last several weeks (and the bumping from the flight is a real bonus).
