I was so excited to see Richard Speight. Please let there be a whole troop of BoB guys parading through this show. Yes, of course, we really want Ron Livingston, but after him I'd be most excited to see Ross McCall.

And Speight was really good. He broke my heart a tiny bit with the afraid of heights thing. And I loved how dorky he was.

I wasn't crazy about the arty direction in the bit where Charlie had the gun and the Buddhist flag and it montaged (verb? no? oh well.) into the scene with Bodner. It felt too staged, too forced, although I agree that it's a great angle from which to shoot Damian Lewis.

And yes, I think Charlie is lying to Reese about her dad and there's no way that's going to turn out good.

Yes, RL and DL together again would be magnificent. I can't believe that the sheer force of wishing from all BoB fans hasn't made it so yet. And I second your second, in Ross McCall. That would be so much fun! And if he could use his real accent, all the better ( ... )

Agreed on the Jack Reese thing. I didn't get the sense Charlie was lying either. Though I'm not necessarily sure Dani believes him because she does or because she has to think her father isn't a monster.

The thing is, even if Jack Reese isn't the mastermind behind the plot that landed Charlie in jail, he did have a part in it and his hands aren't clean. What Charlie said gave Reese the impression that her father carried no blame at all, and I don't think that's true.

Charlie really should know his partner well enough to know that she won't appreciate being protected through any kind of deception, no matter how well-meaning.

Yeah, you might be right that Reese thinks Charlie is saying Jack is completely innocent. I think his words were "He's not responsible..." for sending Charlie to jail. So he didn't lie, IMO, but certainly Reese might feel (or hope) that Charlie is saying more than that. She might look back on it and think that Charlie told her Jack wasn't involved at all.

I can't quite remember how much she already knows about what her father did. She knows about Kyle Hollis and she knows her father's involved. But does she know anything beyond that? I'm just wondering whether she has reason to suspect her father, no matter what Charlie does or doesn't say.

So, again, if you want to know absolutely nothing about upcoming events, let me know. Otherwise, I'll tell you what edgy brought over. It's only midly spoilery.

Mild spoilers are good. Bring 'em on.
