Ok, I love this like crazy. Especially the last question, but most especially the fourth question, at about 1:17. Let me count the ways: a) it’s Kris who makes the WTF face that starts all the giggles, b) not like Adam didn’t know what he was saying, but he totally thought he was going to get away with it until Kris made The Face, c) Kris’ huge belly laugh (<3<3<3!!!) and d) what Adam says at the end, both the choice of words (!) and the tone of his voice. I cannot get enough of that one.

Massive Disclaimer: I don’t ship them.
In fact, shipping them undercuts their whole goddamned raison d’etre. The beauty of Adam and Kris is that they’re so different --- wildly talented, free-thinking gay man and wildly talented Christian, married, straight man --- and that they’re such good friends.
The meta part being that some fans of each guy (with a big steaming bucket of help from the media) tried to polarize them beyond that, suggesting that people vote for a religion/ideology/lifestyle rather than a singer. These two resisted in the sweetest, most sincere, most meaningful way, which was to demonstrate their rock-solid friendship all the way through the finale and the interview circuit.
I found these in a great post by buffyx, linked below, and paraphrased a little:
Apparently, according to a friend of the Allen family, Adam painted Kris's thumbnail after the homecoming visits and removed the polish from one of his own nails, saying, “If you can carry around a piece of me, man, I can do the same for you.” The friend said, “The Allens believe Kris wears the black fingernail polish in support of Adam because he wanted Adam in the finale. Also, Kris wanted to dispel any rumors claiming the two weren’t great friends. Kris and Adam were roommates in the Idol Mansion throughout their stay."
Kris: “There [were all these rumors] about how all the conservative, Christian people that would vote for me hate Adam and never want him to win because of who he is. Oh, it was so frustrating - really bad, because we are really good friends. Why can't everyone get along? It never made any sense for me to judge anyone, who they are. It frustrates me that people can't get along with people because of their differences. And I'll tell you what, especially Christians. Christians have a hard time accepting people like Adam - liberal, from L.A., looks different, maybe acts a certain way. He's a great, great guy. They don't even give him a chance. And it's frustrating because I come from that. A lot of my friends are not that way, which I appreciate, but a lot of people in Arkansas or in the South or wherever are that way. We really hope that our relationship can be an inspiration to people. I could go on about that forever.”
This video is really nicely done and it has a great collection of clips, so I love it. But the song lyrics suggest romance - that’s the only part I don’t love. The cool thing is that they’re friends, not that they’re in love or having sex or whatever. That would be something else entirely. This is bromance, in the best sense: two guys with sincere, platonic love and respect for each other. Making it something else makes me sad.
