Second half of my rec list, which LJ told me was now too big for one post. Yes, I know, I write too much. *sigh* Anyway, this part contains the zine fiction, art recs, Shatnoy stories and vids, as well as reference links. For K/S videos and online fiction, please check the other list
here. For a more frequently updated version of the complete list, please see my
blog.

Individual stories I'll ramsack my room and zine piles to re-read:
In the Gold of Morning, Patricia Roe, T'hy'la 19. On a road of Southern California, the lives of two lonely teenagers collide: the brash, spoiled son of a business magnate Jim Kirk and quiet, gentle alien Spock who lives in a ramshackle house on the Coast. In the course of a few weeks out of time, they learn to know each other, discover love and Jim will find a sense to his reckless life. A very nicely written coming-of-age, with a beautiful feeling of innocence and pure love permeating the story. This young Jim feels surprisingly like reboot!Jim.
Leap of Faith, Time Dahlquist, As I do Thee 20/Splendor. Starfleet's newly implanted contact teams have been a success eveywhere in the fleet, except on the Enterprise. With his first officer sent away for training, a stressed Kirk 's been putting everyone on edge on the ship. It will take a discussion with Bones, then with Spock, to understand why everything felt so wrong lately... Love how it addresses and tries to explain Kirk beaming down with all the landing parties and how he and Spock realize their feelings as conversation unfolds.
Two Ships Passing, Dovya Blacque, As I Do Thee 20/Splendor/Legends 2. Back on Earth after V'Ger, Kirk and Spock realizes their mutual love and desire just when they are about to be separated by Starfleet, in command of different ships. Very poignant and beautiful, full of that searing intensity brought by desperation and imminent separation. And God, the sex is H.O.T. No HEA, yet the ending is not a unhappy one. The story is continued in In the Night (Legends 2).
The Sound of your Breath, Dovya Blacque, Naked Times 30/Splendor. After Amok Time, Spock starts sneaking into Kirk's cabin at night, listening to his Captain breathe, a comfort and reassurance that both of them need and neither can deny. Tender, with a feeling of furtiveness and stolen intimacy in the dark of night.
Still waters, Dovya Blacque, Splendor. Spock must pose as master to Kirk's slave when the two are sent for negociations on a planet that harbours deep-set prejudice and shocking sexual customs. Spock is afraid the roles they are forced to play will strain his friendship with his captain to breaking point. But it's another kind of tension that is buiding up in their room one night... Sexy, just a bit kinky, with some kinda hot fantasies that lead to hotter sex and confessions of love. Really nice.
When Pain Fades, Natasha Solten, Daring Attempt 2. 23 pages. Spock, freshly rescued from Orion slavers who raped him, finds himself helping Jim to deal with his own rape in similar circustances 2 years prior. The subject sounds grim, but this is actually a touching story with less angst than one could imagine. The emphasis is on Kirk and Spock's deepening connection and how the two men find solace in each other's company and later, love. Based on this alone I'd buy anything with Solten's name on it.
All This Time, M.E. Carter, Beyond Dreams 1. 33 pages. Aftermath of Galileo Seven. As Kirk comes to a few realizations about what his first officer means to him, commissioner Ferris is still making a nuisance of himself. What does he have in mind? Great writing, great unfolding, great characterization and character dynamics, this was the discovery of another new favorite author for me :). The fic also does a nice job of explaining a few points such as Kirk not even bothering to ascertain the identity of the cremembers beamed aboard (very significant plot point here).
Nightvisions by Susan K. James and Carol A. Frisbie. Novel-lenght zine, 250 p. Hurt/comfort, First time. Returning from an assignment on Vulcan, Spock finds out Kirk has been blinded by an attack from an unknwon Tholian weapon. Resisting all of Kirk's tries to send him back to the Enterprise, Spock takes an undefinite leave of absence to take care of his captain at the Starbase, along with Dr McCoy who is worried about his friend's unpredictable and potentially fatal seizures. As Kirk slowly tries to adapt to his new situation, love blooms between him and Spock and Kirk realizes how brightly love can light a man's darkness. Both angsty and romantic, intense and powerful, this is the courageous fight of a man for his independance after his world shatters and a sweeping story of love, hope and devotion. Plenty of pretty illos.
Keeping Secrets, Teresa Kyle, Legends 1. 11 pages 1/2. An absolutely lovely K/S pre-slash. Feeling his captain needs a friend to get over the death of his lover Gary Mitchell, newly appointed First officer Spock talks Leonard McCoy into accepting the post of CMO aboard the Enterprise... and as he himself offers what comfort he can, comes to realize the nature of that warm feeling that invades him every time he thinks of Jim Kirk. Gorgeous, moving depiction of Spock falling quietly and utterly in love with his captain behind his stoic facade, and great characterization all over. Very nice and original take on how McCoy arrived on the Enterprise.
The Touch of your hand, Dovya Blacque, Legends 1. 18 pages. Spock spends a lot of time studying his captain. The way he interacts with other people, with women. The way he touches. The way he kisses. And after Jim tries to explain to him the why and when and how of kissing, Spock decides to do some experimenting of his own... An utterly delightful story venturing very close to K/S/McC territory, with terrific Big Three characterization, spot-on dialogue and lots of hilarious-but-OMG-so-sweet moments. Warm and full of humor, Dovya at her best.
Fetish by Jenny Starr. Novel, 188 p. in small font & double columns. Spock and McCoy must go back in time to protect a 16-year-old Jim Kirk from Klingon assassination. The young Jim, fascinated by his future officers and friends, comes to love the tall, stoic, devoted Vulcan. But could his future self do the same? Fantastic time-travel story with great plot and excellent writing throughout. Good analyzis of the characters and their motivations, especially Kirk. Warning for sexual involvement between Spock and very minor Jim, but it is justified and made understandable here.
Antinomy, Suzan Lovett, Antinomy/ Nome 7, 72 pages. Best story I've ever read depicting the end of the 5-year mission. It is beautifully written, the characterization is exquisite, the whole chain of events is completely believable... and it's so heartbreaking to read I'm not sure I'll ever be able to read it in full again. It tells how such a tightly knitted crew and an utterly devoted pair of friends as Kirk and Spock could be broken up and scattered across the galaxy, in a cold, machiavellian plan engineered by the callous Admiral Nogura. The second half of the story, where the situation spirals down beyond repair, is made all the more painful by the absolute love, devotion and trust demonstrated between Kirk and Spock in the first half. An emotional rollercoaster, a perfect bridge between TOS and the TMP novel that is guaranteed to tear your heart apart.
Sufficient Provocation, Suzan Lovett, Antinomy / R & R 21. 10 pages. Post-Journey to Babel. Amanda witnesses the depth of Kirk and Spock's friendship when both of them are endangered in turn and risk their life for the other. Really nicely written description of Kirk and Spock's lo...er, friendship for each other from an outsider POV and very good suspense. Interesting peek ito Amanda's character and her relationship with Sarek.
Trigon, Suzan Lovett, Antinomy /R & R 15 . 14 pages. Gen story featuring S/f and Kirk/f with Kirk's female interest as the 1st person narrator, but it was still highly satisfying to this slash fan because the whole POINT of the story is the woman discovering she can never be first in Kirk's heart because the spot is already taken (one guess on who that is :-D). Excellent and believable OC, great drama and great het twist on a favorite slash theme.
The Blending of two, Charlotte Frost, Matter/Antimatter 7. 62 pages. On shore leave with Spock, Kirk opens up to his friend about his loneliness and how tired he his of trying to asssuage it with one meaningless woman after another. Spock offers a logical alternative. I loved the quietness of this story, the long talks between the two friends, the maturity in their approach of their relationship and the slow but easy progression towards the physical. Even if it was planned and deliberately developped step by step, it never got tedious or mechanical in the least and didn't lack emotion either. Deep caring and complicity between K&S right from the beginning.
Freedom, Karla Kelly, Matter/Antimatter 7, 6 pages. AU. Vulcan prisoner Spock was resigend to his fate, but the shining and relentless Jim Kirk made him hope again despite his will. Kelly excels at captivating, very short stories that pack a powerful punch and this is one of my favorites.
Portraits by Charlotte Frost. Novel, 146 p. When Spock goes into Pon Farr unexpectedly, Kirk manages to convince his friend to let him help him through it. The shared experience, painful for both, nevertheless brings the two men even closer and after a very close call on a remote planet, the deep love each feels for the other comes to the surface. Wonderful first time story, showing a love so deep that it comes to encompass the physical, with a slow, tentative exploration of male/male sexuality together that becomes more passionate every time.
Setting the Magic Free, Roberta Haga, As I Do Thee 5, 55p. Post TMP.
To Love the Game, Brianna Falken, Within the Mirror 9, 35 p. In the harsh Mirror world, Spock is the only being Kirk allows himself to trust. But Mirror Spock knows that his beloved Captain, traumatized by his rape on Tarsus at an early age, could never return the love of a man. Until a vindicative Marlena kidnaps the Captains and subjets him to a lethal drug that causes a craving to be fucked... The premise could seem silly, but was handled very realistically. Great depiction of the Mirror universe and characters, showcasing the differences between these Kirk and Spock and the ones we know. Scorching hot.
Captives, Diana King, 160 pages. At the very limit between h/c and slash, this novel shows Kirk captured by slavers - after he beamed down on a restricted planet to buy a rare chess set for Spock - and Spock masquarading as a slave buyer to rescue him. The lenghts to which he'll go and his reactions during the process will bring about a few realizations about the nature of his feelings for his captain. Skillfully written, with a bit of old-fashionness in the style, this is a true classic of hurt/comfort. The abduction and rescue were compellingly and cleverly plotted and paced, with original ideas to make Spock pass off as a planet's native. Great angst and introspection due both to circumstances and feeling confusion, and some nice bits of tension as well.
Deflectors Down, Katherine Cooke, First Time 56. Kirk has to deal with the female ambassadors of a matriarchal planet while still struggling with the psychological aftermath of the transference with Janice Lester.
Flesh & Blood, Deanna Gray, First Time 54, 25 p. Kirk reluctantly allows his first officer to undergo an experimental procedure to implant computer components in his brain at Starfleet's request. But when the tone of Spock's messages starts to change, Kirk knows something has gone wrong. A thrilling and sometimes blood-chilling plot, with echoes of The Ultimate Computer and many moments of complicity and tenderness between Kirk and Spock.
Here on Earth, Dovya Blacque, First Time 54, 19 p. Back on Earth after the 5-year-mission, Spock is offered his own ship, again - except this time, he might not be able to refuse. But Jim is determined not to lose the most important person in his life. Permeated with that warm-fuzzy feeling I associate with Dovya's stories, with awesome K/S/MC dynamic and a cosy and domestic ring throughout. Kirk and Spock'S tender caring is obvious long before they get together. Lovely.
To Sacrifice a Galaxy, Toni Cardinal-Price, Nexus V, 6 p. Gen, pre-KS (IMHO). Prisoners of the Klingons on Organia with no way out, Kirk and Spock realize they cannot allow Kirk to be submitted to the mind-sifter and try to fight the grim, logical conclusion it brings them to... and are thus forced to acknowledge the true depth of their feelings for each other. Angsty, moving and powerful short story with excellent characterization and introspection.
Talisman, Theresa Kyle, First Time 28, 34 p. In an informal meeting with Christopher Pike following his appointment as Captain of the Enterprise, Jim finds himself face to face with his new first officer Spock, the man he fell in love with at the Academy and who broke his heart. Lovely, lovely story of two men's first love, and their sweet, innocently passionate exploration of sexuality together. Cute and touching, some heartbreak but ends with promise of an HEA in the future.
Velvet deceptions, Roberta Haga, First Time 20, 72 p. AU. Spy captain James Kirk takes aboard a Vulcan prince he is charged to protect and falls in love with a man he believes to be the royal teen's bodyguard, but is actually the prince himself. A fantastic story with original and well-handled plot, great writing and nice characterization both for OCs and the leads. Loved the concept of Kirk's necklace. Some of the thrill of the story was somewhat spoiled for me with the revelations at the end, but not enough to detract from the overall enjoyment.
If Freedom Fall?, K.S. T'Lan. 245 p. Sort of AU to the Mirror Universe. Empire Captain turned rebel James Kirk kidnaps a Vulcan scientist he suspects would be willing to help his cause. The friendship that ensues resists even Kirk's rape by his friend in pon farr, and when a bond results, Kirk courageously faces the daily implications until they can go back to Vulcan to break it. But when he realizes he's fallen in love with Spock, will he be able to convince his friend? Fantastic plot, loved how the characters dealt with the relationship that was "happened" to them and how open and accepting Kirk was of Spock in all his complexity.
Nor No Man Ever Loved, K.S. T'Lan. Spock loses his memory after his and Kirk's shuttle crashes on a planet, and in the course of their months stranded there he and Spock become lovers. However, he forgets those months again once back on the Enterprise. There starts the agony for Kirk: will his friend ever remember what they shared? Will he push him out of his life in shame and disgust? Is there any chance the 'normal' Spock might love him back? And that's only the beginning before Vulcan's laws create a shitload of trouble... Some misunderstandings, but not gratuitous ones, and interesting take on contemporary Vulcan customs on male-male bondings. Courageous and admirable Kirk who accepts shameful daily humiliations for the right to be at his love's side, even when it threatened to destroy him. Refreshing portrayal of T'Pau as enlightened and sympathetic instead of unfeeling and narrow-minded.
Legend's End, Martha J. Bonds. Gen, but very, very close friendship that I could see turning pre-slash in volume 2 - if I can ever get my hands on it.
The Last Game, Elizabeth Scott, Scattered Stars 5, 23 pages. A nice story in an excellent zine. In this AU, Kirk, an elite mercenary, is challenged in a spacecraft fight by legendary mercenary commander Spock. The stakes? Spock's entire army....or Kirk's body for the night. Very nice tension in this one, especially on Kirk's side who's both distrustful and strangely compelled by Spock, something he doesn't want to admit. Both charismatic and used to win, the two men are excellent matches for each other in wits and skills. Intriguing AU world.
The Commander, Karla Kelly, Scattered Stars 5, . Short AU of a nazi America. Facist officer Jim is brought the one wanted rebel he'd hoped never to find, his former lover Spock.
When Rain Comes, Andi Lenor, First Time 45, 40 pages. Soft and sweet like a summer rain, this story shows Spock's growing fascination for his captain, just as he is being pressured to go back to Vulcan to take a mate. Wonderful, wonderful exploration of the two men's dawning awareness of their feelings. Their coming together feels like it was fated since the beginning of times and their rapport is beautiful, easy and comfortable like a warm cocoon. The tension from their undeclared and unacknowledged feelings culminates in a powerful and heart-wrenching scene on the bridge when Jim lay dying in Spock's arms. An absolute winner.
Precessional, Laurie Huff. Gen, but obviously pre-slash.
Silver Birds Against the Sky, Natasha Solten, Daring Attempt, 14 pages. Based on a snippet of Harlan Ellison's original script of City on the Edge of Forever. Spock brings Jim with him to Vulcan to help him heal after Edith's death. Soft and loving just as I love them, full of long conversations between the two friends, marks of mutual respect and care, and slow healing through a friend's love.
Wither thou goest, Carolyn Spencer, First Time 31, 40 pages. By the master of angst, a story about love winning over pain, torture and even death. Having developed a mental link after repeated melds, Kirk and Spock both live agony as the Romulan Commander tortures first Kirk, then Spock who came to rescue him, then disappears with the Vulcan, leaving Kirk desperately searching for the man he loves. Lots of h/c, may be hard to bear, but the connexion between the two men is so amazingly beautiful, deep and powerful that it carries you through all the hurt to Kirk's last-hope attempt to bring Spock back - a gorgeous and moving scene.
Song of the Lea, Karen Dates, First Time 47, 51 pages. A diplomatic party caught in an ion storm, a shuttle disintegrating over the ocean with its lone occupant, a starship grieving for its heroic Captain except for one Vulcan, who feels the beloved friend he was linked to isn't dead. And a few months later, an amnesiac, charismatic golden alien nursed by the Lea emerging from the waters to capture the hearts of the Landwellers, unite the beings of the sea and the people of the land once more, and talk two planets back from the brink of war... A beautiful and delightful story with wonderful world-building and OCs, with a bit of a fairy-talish quality to the narrative and lyrical descriptions of the Lea and of Jim's beauty. I love how Jim, even without his memories, retained the same compelling, energetic, and commanding personnality. And obviously, this Starfleet would benefit from re-reading the story of a 20th century maritime disaster called Titanic...
The Picnic, Kate Sheridan, First Time 42, 15 pages. Spending shore leave together in Iowa, Jim and Spock attend a picnic basket auction - which proves the perfect way fo Spock to declare his love for his friend. Seriously, the summary doesn't make this story justice. This is as perfect as fluff can get, intelligent, tender and fun yet never boringly perfect and never nauseatingly sweet. Adore the quiet moments together, matchmaking mama Kirk, Spock's very public declaration of love and lovemaking under the stars. Ultimate feel-good story. Go read it.
K/S Art
*worksafe unless indicated otherwise
Hot Chocolate by Anubis-Admirer. Kid Jim and Spock sharing hot chocolate. Manga look, so freaking sweet, with a very faithful representation of Jim and Spock's personalities. The companion piece
Glomp shows when the chocolate starts affecting Spock :).
Classic Trek Hurt/Comfort by juneinblue. Fabulous art in the style of a high-quality comic made of harsh lines and faded hues. In a desolate setting, a wounded Jim is lying on the ground with (of course) his shirt ripped, his head cradled delicately in Spock's lap, with out-of-focus McCoy at their side. Excellent likenesses.
Slash Star Trek painting by Lorraine (artconserv). Stunningly realistic rendition of Kirk and Spock looking into each other's eyes and clutching each other's hands, color oil. You can see despair on Jim's face and intensity on Spock's. Both the final painting and a draft are included, which is so cool.
To Catch a Unicorn zine cover by The Southern Cross. I just had to include it because there is so much fantastic art in the print zines that most of the newer fans don't even know about, and this artist is the most amazing discovery I made, art-wise, in zines this year and this is probably my favorite work by her. Almost photographic in its precision and likeness, this black and white pencil drawing features naked Kirk and Spock lying on the ground on a bed of flowers. Spock is flat on his back with a hand on the shoulder of his friend, who is propped on one elbow at his side and looking into the night. Our heroes are at their sexiest with hard bodies ripped with muscles, but despite the expliciteness of the image (the link is unfortunately to a censored version with a strategically placed post-it), it comes across as deeply sensual instead of sexual. Lush and simply gorgeous :).
First Time 42 zine cover by Shelley Butler. My other favorite zine artist, who did many covers for the series First Time, Within the Mirror, Naked Times, Charisma, Beyond Dreams and more. This specific cover made me add the zine to my wish list even before I checked the stories listing. Here we have Spock looking dashing in his dress uniform, half-turned towards a contemplative Kirk sipping from a champagne flute, a wonderful scene showing Kirk and Spock in a public setting. Black and white. Unlike Southern Cross, Butler focuses on the characters and the shapes fade out at the edges; there is little background besides her custom ornemental flowers . It gives the image a dreamy feel I just love. Exceptional quality of drawing with well-rendered textures, like the silk of Spock's jacket. The back cover shows naked Kirk and Spock kissing and is just as exceptionally drawn.
In the company of Legends by Susan Lovett. I unfortunately don't have a link to a larger pic or an individual page, but it's in the middle of the first row of pictures so, not too hard to find. A peaceful scene with Spock reading, a half-smile on his face, lying back against the chest of a smiling Kirk who is looking oveer his shoulder. Perfect likeness, bright colors, with a pretty fantasy background that I surmise to be elements from the book Spock is reading.
Kirk and Spock by Caren Parnes, another classic Trek zine artist. Color pencil art showing a barechested Kirk with his shirt draped over his shoulders sitting on a bench and Spock (fully-dressed) seated behind him, a hand reaching out to touch his captain's back. I like to imagine they're in the locker room and just got dressed after taking a post-workout joint shower :-D The rendition of Kirk is one of the absolute best I've seen; I am especially fascinated by the smoothness of his skin and the velvety texture of his shirt. Spock is not quite as defined, as if he was a bit out-focus , but still beautifully drawn.
ADULT
Amok by Princess of Swords. From the title, scene must be about Kirk coming to Spock's cabin during his Pon Farr. We can only guess they're in an established relationship, because Kirk is bringing flowers and Spock is waiting naked, like a Roman nobleman entertaining visitors. Stylized rather than faithful, with sensual lines and lots of background details. B&W.
ADULT
I've got an idea, same artist. Kirk daydreaming about what he'd like Spock to do to him, in graphic details, while Spock looks at him with a small frown. Again very stylized, Feyrer-like in style with its swirly lines, but in bright splotches of color this time. Very interesting. *note to self: aj. Burn for Thee*
Portrait of Kirk by Shelley Butler, front cover of First Time #54. Now that is simply...perfection. The best rendition of Kirk I've ever seen from what must be the best shot of him in the whole TOS. Shatner at his absolute handsomest. It makes my heart twist a little to think I'll never get to see him look like that in real. I took to keeping the zine next to me whenever I read another zine and when they mention how good-looking Kirk is, I look at this portrait. I melt just a little very time. Strong decisive features with soft skin and sexy eyes and that lock of hair... *sigh*
Baby Spock with Sehlat by Susan Lovett. This is the cover of the gen zine Vault of Tomorrow #9 and representative of her earlier art style. Impossibly cute and sweet. I always had trouble imagining what a sehlat would look like, and how a bear-like creature with huge fangs could look cuddly - well, not anymore. I'd cuddle the beast just as much as I'd do little Spock. :)
Mirror Spock and Kirk by Pat Stall (from Obsc'zine #4) Another favorite zine artist of mine, and I wanted her represented on this list :). While I could have chosen many of her other artworks, I especially like this one for how sexy her Mirror Spock is, looking both tender and intense; the goatee, the thick mat of hair on the chest...oooh! The hand on Kirk's curly head is deliciously possessive as well. Note the detail on the mattress or whatsit. I love how Stall's work always has deep contrasts, its finish looking soft and the shapes, rounded.
Wish upon a star by cannedebonbon. CGA. Absurdly adorable portrait of Jim holding a tiny!Spock in his arms(probably de-aged considering he's floating in a way-too-large blue science officer's tunic), Spock's wee hand reaching to Jim's face for a mind-meld - which the artist informs us will not work, as Jim's face is too large for tiny!Spock's fingers to reach the proper points. Aww. Most huggable Spockie EVER.
Shatnoy fiction
Yes, Bill and Leonard themselves, together. Don't like the idea, don't read.
Friction by Obstinatrix. Bill blames the friction. All that rolling around with Len - no, Spock, SPOCK - on the set of Amok Time got to his head, and they couldn't get out of character. That's why it happened. He's certain of it. Almost. Very intense and HOT.
Question of Cultural Variation by Obstinatrix. Bill kisses everyones, because that's when Frenchpeople do. Or so Leonard thinks. In any case, it really bothers him and he doesn't quite understand why. Based on a faulty premise (I should know!), but funny with very good UST.
Out of Place by Pepper. "I think... he really loved him", Bill said to Len softly after shooting Kirk's elegy at Spock's funeral in WOK. Faced with a sense of loss at the prospect of their 20-year professional association having reached an end, the two actors realize how closely their own feelings mirror Kirk and Spock's. Great entwining of the actors and their characters, touching and poetic.
After my own heart,
Cutting Diamonds and Before I turn into Gold by Obstinatrix. Nimoy plays matchmaker for Quinto and Pine. Will he find the courage to confess his own feelings to the man he's loved for 40 years?
Director's Cutby obstinatrix. Post-ST IV. Leonard is mad at Bill for nearly drowning him at the end of the movie. Bill tries to apologize in his unique Bill way, but Len turns the tables on him. Hot shower sex.
Wet Hot American Summerby my_daroga. A Jewish summer camp, the 1940s. And two teenage counselors named Leonard Nimoy and Bill Shatner...
NYPD Nights by Obstinatrix. It's not every night one gets to meet his boyhood heroes in the flesh. Even less arrest them for gross indecency in public. Lots of funny lines in this one.
Kiss and Nicotine by Pepper. A cigarette had never looked so inviting to Leonard as it did at this moment between Bill's perfect lips while he laid on the couch. Hawt dressing room first-time sex.
Shatnoy Vids
Western Airlines commercial. Short commercial from the 80s by Shatner and Nimoy, followed by entertaining talk about ST IV: The Voyage Home. Obvious chemistry and great complicity between the two long-time friends. Their antics are so funny! Contains such pearls as "Oh, Leonard!" "Yeah..." "Big. And heavy. And green!", or "You little cute Vulcan!" LOOOL.
Living in TV Land. Bill, Leonard and his wife are on a plane (on the way to a Germany convention I think) and chat about what retirement is like for Leonard, Bill's singing endeavours, and various silly stuff, including coffee-grinding noises. Contains a videoclip-like tribute to Leonard made by Bill himself (apparently), on one of his songs titled I want You to Be You (watch separately
here), where he SO totally slashes the two of them. Or at least Kirk and Spock, which is the same.
Shatner, Nimoy, Kelley - You're My Best Friend. Great montage of sweet moments between the 3 actors at conventions, on TV, mostly Shatner and Nimoy. Smiles and awwwws guaranteed, overload from hugs and touching possible.
Shatner & Nimoy 25-year-mission tour, '91. Terrific. They play off so well together. Such ease.
Part 1 - introductions and Bill speaks of his friensdship for Leonard and getting his name in front of the Chinese Theatre.
Part 2 - How De misspelled his name on cement, and Nimoy speaks of the early days of Star Trek with Variety's 1st review of the show ("Star Trek won't work." Ha!), and Bill shaking him awake in the makeup room.
Part 3 - discussion about favorite episodes, Bill's father's death while shooting Devil in the Dark
Part 4 - the "give that Vulcan an aspirin!" incident, Leonard the prophet, birth of the nerve pinch, Kirk's flying kick
Part 5 - hilarious recollection of the bike incident, ear kiss and fav episodes
Part 6 -

Brittany Diamond AnalyzationCommentary of TOS episodes in a K/S perspective : exhaustive, hilarious, and written with a cutting wit!
Unseen Elements of TOS : Summarizes early scripts of Trek episodes and highlights the differences with the final version; also contains descriptions of scripts never shot. For This Side of Paradise, where we learn of several scenes/lines that would have made Spock's love for Leila look much more genuine instead of mostly spore-induced; they were cut of the aired version. Maybe Rodenberry though it would hurt the K/S relationship? ;) Sturgeon also submitted a third script, the Joy Machine, that was never produced and later re-writtten by someone else as a (rather dry) Star Trek novel with no slash. Little wonder, the original script did have nice slashy undertones. A pity.
Trek Core: Great photo archives & general ST information
Memory Alpha: the ultimate reference for Star Trek facts
TV Loop: terrific source of great Star Trek pictures
Fanlore: General source of information about Trek fandom and print zines; notably has all the pictures of First Time zines.
Star Trek zinedex: compiled by Karen Halliday, the best source of information I have found about print zines yet. It has more information on gen zines than K/S, but has basic info on most existing zines and some K/S series have been annotated, like the T'hy'la.
TV Tropes (Star Trek TOS page): hilarious dissection of the series into its various tropes, many of which were born thanks to it. Fun to read, and it's lovely to check the
Ho Yay page and read through the mile-long list of slashy examples the show featured.
