The recent fuss about retail stores being open Thanksgiving Day made me cranky. Very cranky! I worked retail for over a decade and I have the comedic and horrific stories to prove it. The Bad: The toilet overflowed and flooded the bathroom, twice.
The Good: A rug and a towel took care of that.
The Bad: Our plunger disappeared.
The Good: I took our one working car (grrr) to my Mom's to look for our plunger (she borrows things).

Guess who got arrested at 9:00am this morning? Art the pesky neighbor! Hooray!!! For over 5 months odd & illegal things have been going on at my Mom's house. We have been down this road many times before. No one in my house is very tidy. We all know this, but I do require a certain amount of cleanliness, least we end up with bugs. Most of our problem is too much stuff in a small space. There seem to be other larger problems, like mini lawyers always finding loopholes.

I have never made it a secret that I don't like my daughters year-around school schedule. No regular school should be open after June. The July 4th weekend should herald in summer, period.

I feel that going to school in July & August should be reserved for Summer School and as so, a punishment for not getting your act together the rest of the year.
