This one's nothing special, but boy does everyone act like she is.

"Hey, Naoki, I was wondering, how would you like to come round mine tonight, ya know, to study." I looked up at him with an eyebrow raised. "You're kidding right?" He didn't answer and I sighed. "Not today Light." He frowned. "Why not?" I continued to read my book, not even bothering to look at him. "Why d'ya think?" He still continued to frown. " ( Read more... )

Well, to be fair, Light is pretty creepy. Though definitely not stupid.

HOW DID WE BOTH POST WITH ENGLAND ICONS A MINUTE APART ON A COMPLETELY NON-ENGLAND SUBJECT?? That, that is awesome.

Because England is awesome, of course!

It's a Hetalia party, woooooo!

Thanks, I love the characters of that fandom sooooo very much. L's less mean than the others, but even he has limits. Poor man, he's obviously put so much effort into being unattractive to the sues...

Actually, I am curious what kind of Hetalia Sues there are out there. Curious and afraid.

Oh my God! I'm going to go ahead and call this one:

Her name is Princess Corelia Ravenstar, and she's from the land of Utopia, which has kept itself hidden from the rest of the world because of its ruthless wars and violence, only now she has come to enlighten everyone in the ways of peace! She would be perfect in every way, and both Germany and England (and France and America and Prussia and you-name-it) all fall in love with her.

Then I hang myself, the end.

Can I say I'm not surprised that Death Note attracts Mary Sue writers? For some reason, girls are attracted to the dark mysterious type without even bothering to think about WHY they are that way. And of course, the mystery part of the fandom means that these girls think they need to be smart too to match these guys who are utter geniuses. Except... these girls are smarter then both these dudes, which isn't funny.

I reckoned that sues always gravitated towards the fandoms teeming with sexy heartthrobs, like One Piece or Final Fantasy. L is so obviously strange and creepy, yet they love him. It defies the logic of sues everywhere, yet its so consistent its terrifying.

What's really sad is that all the girls smarter than these guys are actually, much much dumber, they just dumb down everyone else to appear smarter. I guess its true what they say; you can't polish a turd.

I always thought Death Note had its fair share of heartthrobs. Light, Mikami and Namikawa come to mind. Heck, there's a character for every taste in there.

That's true, but none of the sues want them! They all want L. They turn Light into a rapist, they patently ignore Namikawa, and they never seem to want Mikami, with the exception of a few.

I think I missed the intra-sue memorandum where they explained that you can't be in love with the villain, only bring him to his knees with desperate love for you.

I think I'm falling in love with your Light XD; Sorry for not replying to your last comic, my internet kept disconnecting ;3;

And Light is kind of freaky but he'd never force himself on a girl. >:/ Then he'd have to kill himself because thats a crime and it doesn't contribute to his goals in anyway.

Omg, totally of OT but my local anime store has the plush of Light and he looks so chibi and grumpy~♥ Imma get it :D

Chibi Light! Sweet!

Thanks, that makes me happy! And that's true, Light's psychotic, but not in such an uncomplicated way. Its really obvious that you shouldn't do that to a girl; Light would then indeed have to kill himself.

It becomes clearer everyday that they have no interest in the character. Usually sues turn one guy into a criminal to give their sue some drama (example: Ken in Weiss Kreuz, because he likes sports), but Light's already a criminal. You're just turning him into a different kind of criminal to suit your stupid sue formula.

"Well...last night, I heard about this guy called 'Kira'. He can, apparently kill people just by writing down their names and I wanted to know what you think of him."

Nobody investigating Kira knows it's done by writing until way, way later in the story. If L had known that, Death Note would have ended rather anti-climatically with a surprise search.

If they can't even keep the timeline and points of basic logic straight, they have no chance at pulling off an L/OC or Light/OC romance.

Yeah, I noticed that too. Maybe she frequents the drudgereport, or something, where they knew he used a notebook before anyone else did...?

Its so offhand too, 'I heard about some guy named Kira.' By the time he gets the name Kira, the city is in the grip of terror. That's not something you just casually hear mentioned on NPR.

Not that I think any sues listen to NPR. That would be asking far too much.
