at least he played Pigs...friend_or_fauxSeptember 19 2007, 12:57:47 UTC
Man I didn't see you at Aes. Yeah he played a lot of new stuff. I like the new record it's better than bazooka tooth, but yeah as goes the platitude...his old stuff is better. octupus Project was real good i thought, but blockheads dj set was a little bit inorganic. i love blockhead's tunes but I wasn't feeling it. I didn't feel like waiting around to shake his hand but I challenged him to battle rap last time he was in town so I guess that balances out.
When the fuck will Volta tour again? Also Check out look daggers its this new project that ikey is in and it's pretty decent

you know i wasn't real inpressed with blockhead either, except when they looped knightrider in, that was good. i wasn't really into the octopus project. i really am not sold on music without lyrics, unless it's super variable, or classical. volta can jam for an hour and i would love it, because the same hook isn't looped for more than two minutes. even when a dj goes scratch happy, i can only get into for a few minutes. definately not an hour of it. it's tough with the new cd. i'm warming up to it more, but i think the reason i like bazooka tooth more is that even though there were a lot of tracks that didn't stand out, there were a few that REALLY stood out, a la Mars Attacks. on this cd, the first time i listened to it, i felt that keep of the lawn and none shall pass were decent, and citronella was a keeper, but the rest of the cd was sort of bland. it sounds like float with more complex beats (not always necessarily a good thing) and less complex lyrics. also i notice with the new cd, there's a couple of things that get repeated,
