Bad Mommy!

Oct 17, 2007 09:35

Yeah, I did a bad thing and let Gavin stay home from school today. But I figured the only thing they were doing was going to the fire station to check out the fire trucks and stuff like that, so he's not missing out on much. I even told him they were doing that today and he still didn't want to go. Besides, it's raining and the class is walking ( Read more... )

Randy's tried that angle with Gavin too, telling that mommy will go to jail if he misses too much school.

My friend Mandy's ex took her to court for custody of their kids because he said she was letting them miss school. That was just one example of some of the bullshit excuses he came up with. Anyway, even though the kids had not missed much school, the judge made it a point to tell Mandy that the kids are not allowed to miss school just so she will have company.

"I've also tried telling him that most people don't appreciate other's beliefs being pushed on them."

That's a good idea to keep him from 'spreading the word'. The reason is that getting into some form of a religious debate would only serve to confuse him at his age.

Exactly! I keep trying to tell Jason that Mason is too young to understand half of the shit they're trying to brain wash him with. Er, I mean teach him. I'm very patient with him because I don't want to tell him that his beliefs are wrong, or laugh at him when he repeats something that he learned in church that makes no sense to me. I just tell him that not everyone believes that way and that's okay.

My ex is a Jesus-freak and I'm a hardcore non-believer. Fotunately, my son hasnt brought us anything religious to me. O_o

Does she take him to church with her? I just hope that if Mason ever decides that church isn't for him, Jason won't force him to go. The whole situation is frustrating, most of all for the parents. I'm sure Jason hates it when I set Mason strait about people not going to hell for smoking or swearing. No, they're not the best habits to have, but they're not Hell-worthy either. And I get frustrated when Mason lectures me about all the things I'm doing wrong that Jesus doesn't like. Another thing that bothers me, some of the "elders" in the church speak in toungs. They're very extreme and that's what drives me crayzay.

That's what I was thinking too, but I can't let us make a habit out of it.

I got it all done except for the car insurance thing. I don't know why, but I keep putting that off. Probably because it's just a pain in the ass. AND, Ann called me at the last minute to see if I'd watch Payton because she wasn't feeling well and wanted a nap before she went to work. I had her from 11am till 10pm.
