May I romance the Krogan?

I have a feeling he won't be a romance option, which would be a shame because I know a lot of people would like a krogan romance. I was sure Blackwall wouldn't be romanceable in Inquisition though, so I could be wrong again haha.

I'll cross my fingers and toes for you anyway :)

Hopefully. If the krogan can't be romanced, maybe there'll be a romanceable Elcor for me.

They have said Andromeda has more romance options than any previous game they've done (not sure if they mean just the ME trilogy, or if that includes Inquisition) so who knows! Some of that number probably includes Kelly Chambers-esque flirtations and similar smaller 'romances' like Diana Allers (ugh) as well though, so I don't expect every member of our squad/crew to be romanceable. Until the game comes out, anything is possible. And it's fun to speculate. :)

I am getting so hyped for this game. Can it be March now? I think I'm going to take the whole week off from work.

Also there's an intriguing post on Kotaku about new squaddie Cora. Might be spoilery? Might just be speculation. Read at your own risk!

Veeeeeeeeeeeeery curious about whether there's a connection there or if it's just a coincidence. I doubt Bioware would overlook something like that though, at least not with someone as important as a main squad member. Can't wait to find out either way!

Speaking of romance, I'm curious about what everyone's hopes are for romance options in Andromeda. Personally, I'm hoping to be able to smooch Liam (cutie alert) and [Spoiler]Jaal (shh, don't judge me) with Sara and Vetra with either Ryder (I don't really mind which, I just want to be able to continue my Mass Effect tradition of kissing turians).

As for what I think the actual romance option break-down might look like, based on just the characters we know about (there'll probably be more):

Straight SisRyders: Liam, [Spoiler]Jaal
Gay SisRyders: Peebee, Vetra
Straight BroRyders: Cora, Peebee
Gay BroRyders: Reyes (sp?), [Spoiler]JaalCora and Liam could both be romance options for either Ryder twin as well (which would mean Ryders of every sexual preference would have at least one potential human love interest as a squad member), but historically the main human female squad mate/companion in most Bioware games has been straight (Ashley, Miranda, Cassandra, Morrigan) so I can't see Cora being different. I could be wrong though

I've been making eyes at Liam too, but I'm trying not to RP too hard. I want to keep my options open and see what develops naturally as a result of getting to know each of them.

I'm hoping that Vetra is either straight or bi, because I think I'd like to have Scott romance her. Maybe then I could appreciate a turian romance.

Yeah, I think setting your heart on any particular potential LI before finding out if they're even available is a sure way to end up disappointed. Although I like the look of Liam, Jaal and Vetra, we don't really know that much about them yet; even if they are romance options, I may end up going for someone else entirely. I remember when I went into DA2 determined to romance Sebastian based purely upon his design and that voice (guh) and while I liked his romance, it turned out to be only so-so for me. In comparison, I had very little interest in Fenris pre-game and his romance ended up being my favourite after I decided to go for him on my second playthrough. So things don't always pan out the way you think they will

Mass Effect: Andromeda Funko Pop! Vinyl figures!

Looks like Scott may not be getting a figure (at least not yet anyway) while Sara gets three (!!!) and Peebee gets two that are almost exactly the same, ugh. A bit disappointed there's no Vetra. :( The Garrus one I have is super cute.

I'm definitely digging Liam's dual omni-blades and can't wait to see him use them in game, yesssssss. Jaal getting a figure strongly suggests he's going to be a squad mate, so that's cool.

A couple of interesting bits of information from the devs on Twitter (work was really slow today and I have nothing else to do, okay):

* If you use the default name for your character (even if you customise their appearance), people in the game will occasionally refer to your Ryder by their first name (guess I'm definitely sticking with the defaults then, lol)
* You can't change your sibling's name from the default to avoid the confusion of having two characters referred to as 'Ryder'
* There's no Dragon Age style approval system
* Weapon weight will affect cool downs, like in ME3, but the 'details have changed'
* Casual outfits can be changed (whoo!)
[Spoiler to be safe, even though it was brought up in the latest briefing video]* SAM is definitely an AI, not a VI. And yes, that would be illegal.

Urgh. So unfair about the names. I'm already settled on Joan!

Well. I guess I'm sure to make more than one Ryder, so maybe I'll have a Sara Ryder after that.

I know! I used the defaults in the original trilogy, but I was pretty sure I was going to go with custom names this time (I used 'Sarah' for my sole survivor in Fallout 4 and I don't like reusing names). Knowing that NPCs (including LIs, presumably) will actually use the default names, though... welp. Scott and Sarah it is! At least for my first playthroughs.
