I was trying to write some constructive criticism of ME:A, based on what I've seen so far.
The TL;DR is, I've been pleasantly surprised by the world building, the actual plot and the characters. (I didn't really expect to like ME:A, and I do, so that's really good!) But, I do feel that there are some genuine weaknesses in the actual game mechanics - and also more than a few weird/random bugs.
(And my post probably does contain some spoilers, BTW)
RE: SLF Spoiler Threadrose_in_shadowApril 1 2017, 20:32:22 UTC
I want to read, but scared of spoilers. lol
But in the main, I think I feel the same way: I'm really loving the game... but it's clear that it needed another date pushback to really make it shine.
I hope the negative feedback hasn't been so bad that EA pulls the franchise. I really want to see what the next story in Andromeda is... and I haven't even finished the main storyline in this game!
Romance lock in?rose_in_shadowMarch 31 2017, 15:35:22 UTC
Does anyone know how to tell when a romance is locked in? I've had the conversation tagged "I'm interested in you" on the dialogue wheel, but the journal entry for him didn't change yet to confirm a relationship. There hasn't even been any kissing yet!

As it relates to squad members, it looks like after you complete their loyalty missions, they'll ask you to meet and at that time you'll be able to lock in a romance with them. I was looking this up too bc I want to flirt with both Liam and Jaal up until the point where I have to make that commitment decision.
RE: Romance lock in?rose_in_shadowApril 1 2017, 20:33:44 UTC
Hm. Maybe you have to advance the main plot along first? I've done all the loyalty missions available and so far, nothing except for what I said above: the "I'm interested in you" dialogue choice.
RE: Romance lock in?misterandersenApril 1 2017, 15:03:56 UTC
There's a conversation with SAM aboard the tempest where he asks about your romance -- only it happens before the lock-in point? I'm not certain who triggers it because there was the conversation with Peebee in her apartment, and the one with Keri about after the interviews, and the prompt dropping for Vetra's loyalty mission all before hand, and given the use of the 'her' it can't be anything with Jaal
First come, first served if you want it (and if it works)! It popped up as 30% off for me (although I went through checkout just to see the amount, I didn't actually buy anything). I don't know if it's one per person or what, so...
This Thursday, we’ll release a new patch that addresses technical fixes (crashes, improved performance), but also adds a number of improvements we’ve heard you ask for, such as
( ... )
RE: Patch incomingrose_in_shadowApril 8 2017, 02:12:33 UTC
The patch really seemed to smooth some things out. Addison no longer looks like a Barbie doll from the 80s, but far more realistic. I've also noticed more facial animations on just about everyone, even aliens like Jaal.
RE: Patch incomingshukuchanApril 9 2017, 17:27:51 UTC
OH! That explains why my invo was at 200 yesterday. I was mostly okay with just the cryo pod options that added slots to your invo. I max out all the time, but that's because I always forget to get rid of stuff. 200 is excessive, I think. (And did my cryo points make that number go up to 200? Or did my points just get forgotten?)
Finished! (No spoilers)rose_in_shadowApril 8 2017, 02:15:44 UTC
So I finished the game last night and thought it was a very satisfying ending that also left open some very obvious paths to incoming DLC.
I do find myself in one odd position though: I've become so attached to my Ryder, that while part of me wants to move on with another playthrough, another part of me doesn't. Haven't felt that in a very long time.

Ha! Maybe? Though I had thought that I would use the Scott from my SisRyder's playthrough, and use her face as the twin too so that it's a alternate universe where instead of my first Ryder, her brother wakes up first instead. :)
