Shepard's corpse only responds to dextro-amino acids. Since nobody at Lazarus knows much about quarian anatomy, they resurrect her as a turian. Alternatively, the Prothean artifact on Joab contained cloning data patterned on turian biology - so Shepard will spend the next week/month or so turning into one. Either way, Shep ends up with a carapace, spikes, and subvocals.
The important thing is that Shepard has a District 9-esque freakout over being... not-human. Garrus does his best to help her acclimatize, but he finds it really hard to work with his Commander now that she looks like Miss Palaven 2185. Especially after she lets him know she's interested...

RL has been getting in the way of me finishing this up OP, so I'm going to post what I have, so you won't have to wait for me to finish this before having something to read. :) I'll hopefully be able to finish soon! I'll go post it now, and I'll put a link to the fill on this thread once it's up! - A!A

Love everything about this prompt. Especially if the change into turian is gradual - complete with hair falling out, etc.
Goddamn I have way too many in-progress stories, or I'd fill this.... I'll still think about it. Can't promise a fill though.
