Saren/Nihlus, First Time

(OOoh, shiny new kink meme....)
I LOVE the Saren/Nihlus pairing, but one thing I've always struggled with is how those two would actually "get together." Saren seems like such an impossible bastard that I can't see him actually telling his feelings to anyone.
How exactly do those two move from "teacher and student" to "fucking on every available surface"?

Ooooh! I'm always for a Saren/Nihlus prompt. SO MUCH! I collect them ALL in my want-to-fill que. Because there are (almost) no bad prompts for them. Maybe one day this will fit for my headcanon. In the meantime:
Mars: Kick Eva's Ass

during the Mars mission, Shepard, Liara and Vega basically stand around with their thumbs up their asses, while the VS gets beaten against a Kodiak and roasted over an open flame. My question: Why?
Why not just charge Eva and start kicking the shit out of the bot, saving your potential love interest from a trip to Huerta Memorial, and not have them suffer through terrible hospital food? The VS may be dead, and you are all standing there like a bunch of assholes!
Essentially, what I want is to see Shepard, or Liara, or hell, even Vega, just to go to town on Eva, and stop her before the LI gets hurt (Ash preferred, not necessarily).
Bonus points if, for some other reason, the VS becomes incapacitated and can't participate in missions like in OTL (Either through being discharged, slipping on a banana peel, The Shield come out of nowhere and triple-powerbomb VS, wins free trip to somewhere far off, etc.)

Wellll Liara was injured that's why PL pushes them away to fire at Eva and then Shepard was helping Vega out of the crashed Kodiak when the fight first started and probably thought that a bullet would have been faster than rushing towards the terminator. But whateves 2nd
Garrus is a man-whore. In a very, very sexy way. And he has gotten laid with all the plot-relevant turians, from when he was at the end of his military service, to his time in C-Sec

An orphaned child, or maybe a small group of them, trying to survive on the Docks during the Reaper War.
Not fussy about the species involved, or how things happen, but I could go either way on a tragic or happy ending.
