Without going into too much detail, Statistics is the single most useful class I ever took. Two recommendations for you to get to help you:

_Freakonomics_ by Steven Dubner and Steven Levitt. This is one of two books that convinced me how Stats was the most important skill I could ever learn (the other was the _Silent War_ by John P. Craven).

Get ahold of a copy of _The Cartoon Guide to Statistics_ by Larry Gonick. I used this in my Stats 101 class and so did my brother to make it through. (In fact he still has it...)

The cartoon guide is a great "I don't quite get this concept" resource as a companion alongside your text book.
