Apparently, I missed the entire beginning of the purging drama. My apologies to those people that felt as though they needed me here (even if just a person to talk to about it).

I'm following my fandom. I don't care if it goes to the ends of the earth, I'm going to go where it goes.

This needs to be pimped so the proper fandom people see it. They were not doing anything wrong and running is weak. They need to stay and put their foot down.

And people are doing that. The main reason for the move to GJ is to take away money from LJ and show them that we aren't going to put up with their shit and take our business elsewhere. Their actions are completely unjustified and with something like this, we can still fight LJ while still being on another site. I'm not saying I'm moving but I can definitely see why people are considering this. I love my LJ and I can't imagine moving my blog elsewhere but I honor my fandom before anything else even if I don't agree with some of their actions -- I will follow my fandom anywhere with just about any decision they make because at the end of the day, this fandom means more to me than anything I can possibly name at this point.

Technically, the less journals LJ has to deal with, the less bandwidth and (therefore) the less money they lose. We, the fandom, aren't doing anything wrong and if we leave completely, that's another way of saying "Oh silly LJ, of course you're right." Maybe not meaning to say that, but we are.

Granted, temporary residence somewhere else (like GJ or whatnot) would be smart to keep up with things.

No! Yikes. If I'd known it would cause this much spasming, I would have waited until three-something in the morning. ^_~ I temporarily deleted my journal to test an archival feature, and it took longer to test than anticipated. Nothing major, and nothing related to the above. *heart*
