I like the points you raised and it is always good to not be swept by the so-called "digital revolution" in the Philippines (a few years too late) and mistake it as a prelude to another "Golden Age of Philippine Cinema". Given that shooting digital has opened doors for aspiring storytellers it has also opened a pandora's box foremost of the diseases plaguing the industry are the lack of vision and absence of discipline. Simply because someone can "point and shoot" creeates a tendency for others to think they can produce or direct. At least with film, it requires a certain amount of discipline and visualization because you CANNOT afford to make mistakes as each mistake costs money. Shots have to be well-planned and script dissected. Most of all, actors have to be properly rehearsed. With the current trend in going digital, almost everyone thinks they can tell a story. Problem is, not everyone can.
