I chopped off all my hair yesterday. Shorter than it's ever been in my lifetime that I can remember. Not like last time when I chopped it off and it was just straight and to my chin. I mean all gone, 17 inches worth of donatable hair (4 ponytails, mind you), and then probably about two more inches of styling wound up on the floor. I love it. ( Read more... )

I survived my first real bout of being sick all by myself. I discovered Tuesday that I had both strep throat and an ear infection while having a 102 fever. Had a very decent weekend as weekends go. Have also been having a FANTASTIC week since test taking has ended until finals and the giving back of said test has turned into a plesant experience. I ran the Race for the Cure today. It was fantastic, minus the getting there really early in the morning part. I ran it with Lindsey and Caroline, two girls from the MSE department with me. I have chicken soup coming out my ears. I'm not kidding. Today, I made chicken soup from scratch. I bought a whole chicken, threw it in a (12 quart) pot with lots of water and onions and carrots and celery and garlic, and now I have 12 quarts of chicken soup with egg noodles. I just wanted to announce to the world that I am NOT failing out of graduate school, at least not yet, and that this makes me very happy. I just got back my first exam, from the class with Todd, my advisor. The exam was out of 40 points, the average was 28, and I got a 30. And you know what pisses me off?
