We stayed out way too late tonight. We went to the Rogers Public Library to meet with some folks about the potential for starting up a Hacker/MakerSpace here in NWA. I'm very excited about the possibility of having a place to build things and learn from others. I'm not sure exactly why I've let this journal languish so long, but I'm going to try to breathe a little life back into it. I took a speech class at NWACC this spring to work on my fear of public speaking. One of the suggestions the professor made was to keep a journal. I finally made it back to the gym this morning. Yay! I've been out almost two weeks, but I forced myself to head back. Today I did circuit training, and tomorrow I plan to start back with the heavy lifting. Tomorrow's plan: pyramid lifting for upper body and 20 minutes of cardio. I'm amused and a bit sad that keeping my name is so hard. Legally, I don't have to do anything to keep my name, but people are another story. I keep having to tell folks repeatedly that my name is not changing. It's funny how ideas get stuck in our heads and will not let go.

Tom, Christopher and I went over to Chuck's for a birthday party last night. Fernando, one of the guys on Tom's team, turned 28 yesterday. We played poker for candy and ate pizza and ice cream cake. Sadly, the vacation is over. I'm up at this absurd hour again and getting ready to set out for work. I fully expect to spend 4 hours catching up on email at work.

We survived the wedding craziness. I am very thankful it is over. The service was a small one at my parents house. Personally, I would have preferred going to the courthouse with no guests, but it was important to Tom that we have a service. Unfortunately, he's not a planner.
