My kitchen is infested with yellow jackets, as is my kitchen porch.  I have sprayed, but it hasn't really worked.  I called my land lady and left a message about it.  I went to home depot and found a few things to try.  I found one trap that will hopefully work indoors.  I have it hanging from one of the windows.  I am trying to stay out of the ( Read more... )

Well, I am really responding well to physical therapy.  I am now bandaging both legs.  The left to the mid-thigh and the right to the knee.  It is kind of weird having them not match, but I now have matching shoes, or hospital boots...  I had an insect bite on the back of my right leg that got infected and abscessed.  We (my therapist and myself) ( Read more... )

Well, Delta has a great sale on airfare down to Florida in September, so I booked myself a mini-vacation to Sarasota via Tampa right after Labor Day.  I have to meet my future sister-in-law, plus I haven't seen my brother in over a year, so it really works out well.  I am excited about going.  I found a great deal for a rental car, so I am guessing ( Read more... )

I know, it has been a long time since I have updated.   A lot has happened.  I started physical therapy for my legs; I got a "preferred parking space" for the month of July at work; I went across the border for less than a day; one of my aunts passed away...

I finally had my appointment with the Lymphedema clinic today.  They measured my swollen legs, took my medical history, and gave me the game plan.  I start with the intensive therapy on Monday.  It requires me to go the clinic 4 times a week, for about an hour each visit.  I knew my boss wouldn't have a problem with me leaving, as she doesn't want ( Read more... )

I work for a pretty conservative company.  Anything that isn't "normal" is frowned upon.  Heck, I was being heckled for writing on my hand this afternoon to remind myself to stop off at three different places on the way home.  But back to work, it is a large campus, but you tend to recognize people that you have no idea who they are, but you see ( Read more... )

I received my first Jury Duty summons for a day that I was on the cruise, so I deferred to June, figuring that work would have slowed down.  Work hasn't eased up at all, and I was called to serve tomorrow.  I was fine with it, as I have been lucky and hadn't been called in the 10+ years that I was eligible in either state.  I did as I told ( Read more... )
