There was a special on a one yard piece of IL019 bleached softened white linen for $1. I let temptation win and bought it. Before I washed it, it was allegedly one yard long (but I didn't measure) and measured at about 58 inches wide. (The website says 59 inches, now that I look at it.) I'm sorry for having led you astray. I'm normally quite happy with their products, but I've never evaluated them for use as a pillowcase. This sounds like a particularly bad batch and I'm wondering if that's why they put it on sale. >:(

And yet they claimed the sale was to introduce people to their products relatively risk free, so I can't see as how that would have been a good business strategy.

I'm thinking I'll still get a pillowcase out of it, with maybe enough fabric leftover for a coif or two, which I can use. I just might not nuzzle the pillowcase as much as if it was softer, or until it gets softer, or something. Much of my linen garb gets better with age.
