jon brion's "peer pressure" from eternal sunshine is in a new commercial asking for donations for a world trade center memorial. is it shitty of me to think that's a bad use of the song and a stupid idea?

peer pressuring people into donating money?

um. i dunno. i don't remember how that song goes, actually.
it would be funny in a ridiculous way if the song was about peer pressure and they're asking for donations... just doesn't seem like the right strategy.

it's probably not about that at all though.

well it's a musical song so you don't really hear lyrics. i was just kind of weirded out that they just took it off a movie soundtrack like that when the context is so different. they were asking for money or support though (which usually means monetary support)
