Ok, so I'm thinking about switching to verizon as my cell phone carrier. Anyone have any comments, good or bad, in regards to them?

Thanks. Interesting stuff. Doesn't seem like there is any reason why I shouldn't switch according to that info. The only reason I had Cingular was because of the free rollover minutes, but I never use them anymore.

I have had Cingular, Suncom, AT&T and now Verizon. I love Verizon. I never have problems with dropped calls or service and I get coverage everywhere....even at my Dad's house in BFE. (He was shocked that anyone could get service out there.) I loved At&t, but they sold me to Suncom. Whatever you do, just don't get suncom.

Yeah, I can't really get coverage at my mom's in A-ville which is annoying with Cingular. I just might have to switch to Verizon then!

really? they put up at least one new cell tower kinda recently. i used to have to turn off my phone cuz it didn't work at my 'rents' house. now it gets a great signal.

anyway, if ncm says it's good, i want to switch too! i wonder when my contract is up...

I have Verizon and I basically like it, but since I'm not in NC my experience is probably irrelevant!

I got burned very badly by Verizon while in college and haven't wanted to go back to them since. There coverage was pretty good, just the customer service people I dealt with were very very crappy. Whatever you do, get the insurance for replacing a phone if something should ever happen to it. That's how I ended up paying $250 for new phone one week after I got my plan which included the free phone. The free phone cost $250 to replace. They said it had water damage yet the phone never left my purse. Yeah, I'm still bitter.

Ouch that sucks! Sorry to hear that. I think the picture you choose is quite appropriate.

I had Sprint for years when I lived in Raleigh and in Charlotte. They had decent coverage (not great, but as long as I wasn't on the highway or in my dorm room I had service), but the Sprint customer service department is home to the absolute worst customer service representatives I have ever had the misfortune of dealing with. Rather than bore you with the details, I'll just say that the customer service was the main reason I eventually switched ( ... )
