It's so hard for me to get over the past

Every day stuff goes through my mind that is over, done with, and irrelevant. I've made a mistake, I trusted the wrong people, I lost a huge part of me, and all I have is all that's left

Matt, you can't lie to yourself. It's not black and white. It wasn't all bad and it wasn't all good. You invested a lot in her, so you had to have gained something from it. Grow from this. Become better at relationships because of it. Understand God's creation better through this. Take the good, but recognize the bad. The "bad" is nothing more than a chance to grow and learn, but recognize that growing pains are hard. Most importantly, gain more confidence. The only way to move forward is to learn to love yourself as fully as possible and learn to be independent. If you depend on someone else to feel complete or happy then it's not love.
