The simplest solution to tax troubles is to have no income; therefore, no taxes. I highly recommend it for people who don't like filing taxes and can do without luxuries such as food, clothing, medical care, and shelter.

No...TurboTax couldn't deal simultaneously with
1) Getting married
2) Moving
3) Earning in one state while living in another.

Specifically, the Pennsylvania state module (which we paid $38 on top of the $80 we paid for TT premier) couldn't get its numbers right. We tried filing jointly, but the Illinois forms couldn't handle it. So we re-did everything for each of us, and I wound up having to hand-check the Illinois form and hand-write the Pennsylvania form. At least it did my 1040 for me (which wasn't saying much, because I pretty much qualified for the 1040EZ anyway...)

We went through this also... after being told specifically that we couldn't just get married in the church in December and wait a few weeks to sign and send in our marriage licenses so we could skip out of being 'married' in 2007.

We filed married jointly in Illinois for federal.
We filed married jointly in Minnesota. (Where I lived/worked.)
We filed married single in Illinois (With special modifications and extra forms for both MN and IL for 'tax credits' for taxes paid to other states.)

We used turbo tax for federal and parts of Illinois, but did MN by hand. The software just wasn't as complicated as our lives.
