Well, I don't think they'll go there quite yet, but it can't hurt for them to start setting up the endgame. And I think they might be trying to introduce some newer characters. They've lost Roy and Ryan (somewhat). A camera guy would be neato.
Toby makes me sad!happy.I want a Toby focused episode and for Michael to make some sort of connection with him. But a very fleeting connection, because Michael does not learn.
Hee - reading about the US version of the Office (which I haven't seen), it sounds so fundamentally unlike the UK original, which is basically extremely uncomfortable and very funny, but in a painful way, to watch. I mean, it's the kind of humour which makes you cringe because it's so raw and close to the bone. To the extent that I can't watch much of it.
Is there any of that in the US version? The cringing, oh my god he's not going to say that, argh, I can't keep watching, kind of stuff (like in Extras, if you've ever seen it, or Peep Show, or any of the other successful and violently uncomfortable and very funny British shows around).
Oh, I've seen some of both versions, and I think that basically the U.S. Office is as uncomfortable as I can possibly be without being unwilling to watch it. It definitely has its cringe-worthy moments, but it's a little sweeter than the UK version.
I've only seen a couple of UK episodes, but while there are definitely lots of uncomfortable moments, I do think the US version is kinder and gentler. Not as bad as Extras (though I've only seen the Radcakes episode).
When I was a kid....I used to stand by the mailbox waiting for the extra thick issue of the TV Guide fall preview. It would have a section for each night and pictures and descriptions of all the new shows. Then I would draw a chart and list all the new shows and plug in my own shows so I made sure I watched everything I wanted to.
Now.....I think I am watching two new shows...Reaper and Gossip Girl...and one repeat...Supernatural. (I'm not counting Bravo and History channel.) I just don't trust the networks to stick with shows...so I have lost all interest in trying to fall in love with new ones.
I am desperately keeping an eye out for a new TV boyfriend. If you see a candidate.....let me know ASAP! lol
Ha! That's kind of cute. I didn't care about TV at all as a kid, and anyway I could never count on getting to watch it. Controlling family.
OK, I might have to take back what I said in this post, because I think I'll be watching Gossip Girl. It's not The OC, but it's fun. No TV boyfriends, though. (My TV boyfriend is Jim.)
