Some weeks ago, our phone connection (and therefore our internet) went cablooey. When holding the phone receiver to the ear all you heard was static and the barest hint of a dial tone. The phone guy finally came out to fix the problem, which he discovered was in the phone line out on the road (not in our house), so that was replaced.

Wonderful customer service there... [/sarcasm] But I know what you mean - my parents in-law live near the end of a rural lane in a small village in Lincolnshire and they tend to have similar problems :-(

Fortunately, I had the foresight to ask my grandmother to write down as much family history as she could and I got several letters from her in answer to my request. Also, since I was the only grandchild who showed any interest in genealogy, I got all the family papers. Once we're moved I'll be diving in head first into the research and am quite looking forward to it.
Supernatural season 5 comes out next week and I'll be sitting for hours getting caught up. I can't WAIT!!
