Term is rapidly coming to a close. I can list on two hands the academic tasks ( I have left )

For those of you who don't know, my lab partner sultanpepper and I implemented Grover's algorithm, a quantum needle-in-the-haystack algorithm on the two qubit ensemble NMR quantum computing Junior Lab system. We were able to get a heretofore unreachable forty runs on all four possible oracles. The oscillatory behavior of the algorithm is very clear and visible ( Read more... )

Earlier today, I sent in my official acceptance of Los Alamos National Laboratory's Neutron Science and Technology Group's offer of summer employment. I'll be in New Mexico from late May to mid-August; you should visit and keep me company. I'm in the process of looking for housing and other annoyances that distract from physics. :)

• 18.700 - Finally getting around to taking a formal linear algebra class. Looks like a standard math class - I'm in this with Shanying Cui, Nick Harrington, Kendra Beckler and Eric Jonas, of all people.
