As some of you know, at the end of my VanCon trip I was going to be making a detour on my way home, stopping in Winnipeg to pick up the newest addition to our family. And here he is…

Glad he's in puppy class.
I'm actually going to sign him up for another school's class that starts in a few weeks so there will be about a 2 week overlap. I want him to get as much baby socializing with other dogs as possible. I'll continue with the classes at the second school. I like the instructor's methods but have never gone to her since she started her own school. She actually got a JRT pup from us years ago (who passed away in 2008) and I've recommended her to others so now it's my turn ;).
When do you start hunt training?Aside from encouraging his natural retrieving tendencies the past few weeks, we've done nothing formal yet but we're going to start some training this weekend: likely tracking (treats in the grass) and OMG! does he follow his nose, so that won't be a problem. Cannon is adorable as can be, looks like a German Shorthair with a beard! He sounds like quite the boy and a whole lotta dog. Hope hubby is ready for him, lol!
And hope you get some sleep, soon. *hugs you - tickles silly puppy*

While I was writing about my VanCon trip this year, I was thinking about you. I'm so glad we got to meet and spend a smidgen of time together last year :)

Oh, wait, you know I'm sure I responded because I think I linked you to a pic of my parents wonderful old Aussie (now gone), King.
My fur babies are getting lots of snuggles. Sadly, just minutes ago, I posted an entry about Dyna, one of my younger ones. She's breaking my heart. I'll let you read about it over there so I don't have to re-type the words :(
Take care, pard. Always great to hear from you {{hugs}}
