Movie Rec: Warrior

I know I've been horribly absent lately and may well have missed mention of this movie on your own pages at any given point in the last 6 months so I'm probably late to the party. But, in case some of you are as well, I must highly, highly, highly recommend Warrior, starring Tom Hardy, Joel Edgerton and Nick Nolte.

Sooooooooo thrilled to find another Warrior lover. OMG what an awesome, awesome movie! I'll be purchasing the DVD too.

I've so become a fan of Tom. Since watching Warrior a week and a half ago, I've now seen him in Bronson, The Take, have Marie Antoinette set to record on my PVR and will be watching Tinker, Tailor this weekend LOL.

He's mesmerizing and such a talent. I'd so love to see him work with Joel again too. They have great chemistry in the interviews as well as that intense electricity between them in the movie.

I *loved* your review (thanks for the link) and will have more to say over there ;)

UTTER PERFECTION! :D

How amazing is Tom? he always goes for the broken characters, but he brings so much to his performances! <3 I have seen Inception, RocknRolla, The Take, Oliver Twist, Warrior, Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy, This Means War. I also have (but have not yet seen) Bronson, Wuthering Heights, Cape Wrath/Meadowlands, Stuart a Life Backwards.
What did you think of The Take? so intense and such heavy issues.

I would love to see him work with Joel as well. You're SO RIGHT about their chemistry :) He has that with Benedict Cumberbatch as well (TTSS, Stuart a Life Backwards)

I've absolutely fallen for Tom and love Joel too but Tom's broken little boy - Tommy - has wormed his way deeper into my heart. I watched Bronson shortly after Warrior and was soooo impressed. Even there, he brought out my sympathy. He's amazing. Same with The Take. Masterful performance! He absolutely broke my heart in TTSS and I'm sure I re-watched his tearful scene 5 times before it finally deleted from my onDemand account. Gorgeous! I've seen clips of him in Wuthering Heights, and Stuart, the latter of which I definitely want to watch in entirety. He also just melts me in that damn British Kleenex commercial (and the behind the scenes look at it) which I've probaly watched 30 times by now LOL. He's a truly brilliant actor and I can't wait to see more of him. I bought RocknRolla and will be watching it this weekend and look forward to seeing him in something lighter like This Means War. I'm really looking forward to Lawless (Wettest County) too. I'm an Oldman fan too so seeing them work together again will be a treat. Tom is ( ... )

I'm returning the favor as you posted to my LJ and I just had to visit yours and lo, a post about WARRIOR! :)

(What's even more intriguing is that you also adore Jensen Ackles, he who was once my NUMBER ONE and now hovers in the fifth slot of my LIST.)

Anyhoo, I absolutely agree with all the good things you say about WARRIOR. It's a movie I absolutely recommend to anyone and everyone. I fell in love with Tom Hardy after this movie (even though I'd seen him here and there since STAR TREK: NEMESIS). I love how this movie makes me cry a little and laugh a little. It totally takes your heart and squeezes to remind you that you're alive.

Let's keep sharing that love! :D

Lovely to see you here! I just couldn't keep my mouth shut about Warrior LOL. Alas, I've been so absent lately, I don't think as many people read my entries as they used to so this message is falling on mostly deaf ears. I'm amazed the SPN community wasn't raving about Warrior though and I so want to spread the word ( ... )

I think the studio did a poor job of marketing Warrior. How could such an excellent movie not catch my attention until it was out on blu-ray?! I will say that I did watch it because of Tom Hardy but I wasn't rightly in love with him until after watching the movie ( ... )

Something went wrong with the marketing. Maybe people had already seen The Fighter and assumed this was a band-wagon movie and would therefore be inferior. It wasn't AT ALL IMO.

I believe the brothers became a family again. I like to imagine Tommy being the wonderful uncle to his nieces and maybe, just maybe finding someone of his own. Awwww. :)

Awww, me too! Have you read any Warrior fic? I found one that creates a lovely, hopeful future for the family. It's here if you want to check it out. I see Tommy becoming an awesome uncle and he and Brendan becoming friends as well as brothers. ::melts:: LOL
