The eastern sky is ablaze in coral this morning and slate-blue clouds scud along the Sound.  It doesn't feel as chilly as it has been...the back deck is wet, not frosted.  The sparrows, chickadees, juncos and finches fight over the feeders and a little red-headed sapsucker is running up and down the beech tree.  Oh-oh, here come the "gangsters".... We shall have to do xmas-story-swappen after the holidays then! First time in YEARS that all 3 of mine chillen will be under the same roof.. well.. under mine! hehehehe.. and at xmas of all times..!! *gets into grinning contest wif maya!*

You gave me the pull of oxymoronic memories there...I can remember Christmases spent with in-laws in Connecticut when my kids were small...magical times of three generations decorating the tree as the cider heated in the fireplace and the snow covered the woods outside...with my kids I discovered what Christmas was supposed to feel like for a kid.

...Swinging over to my side of the family and trying to keep my children shielded...while watching levels of booze intake and bile output...and locking away the sharp objects! All the ghosts of Christmas Past crowding the room.

But a two-sided coin is bankable, eh? Thank you for your lovely holiday wish. I hope your holidays hold and fill you also...and send the 'puter pudden some ear-rubbin'!
