Until she noticed that someone was just observing her.
Quickly she headed back over to the BLU Sniper. Eventhough she kept her cool and walked at an easy pace, when she addressed him it was with a worried tone that was far at odds with the smile on her face.)
I'm being watched. I need your help. You have to take me to the dance floor.

I 'ave to what? That wasn't part 'f the deal.

Just one dance Sniper, that's it.

I don't think that's th' best idea....

Sniper, please. The Spies aren't around, your counterpart is droned, the Pyros are nowhere to be seen, Medic's busy back at his house, and Engineer's too nice and polite to mention this to anyone if I ask him too. The BLU Scout is dancing at one end of the dance floor, so if we stick in the crowd he won't notice. And the RED Scout's not around too.

You owe me.
*He took a deep breath and reached for her hand, leading her out into the crowded dance floor, feeling his face flush as he did so.*

(She lets him take her by the hand, her own face slowly heating up as well. This would probably be an opportune time to tell the Sniper that she, well...)
Umm...Sniper? I don't know how to dance.
(And it had to be a slow dance too? Just great.)

*He groaned but turned to face her.*
It's not that hard. You never been t' one of these before?
*He awkwardly wrapped his arms around her waist, trying to not touch anything that could be construed as him being interested in her.*
I'm a bit tall fer ya. *He almost smirked, that had never been a problem back home.*

(She's just going to let him show her what to do. When he wrapped his arm around her, she let out a soft gasp of surprise.)
Am I supposed to do the same?
Reply
*He nodded to the couples around them.*
Loike them.
*His nervousness amped up when he realized this was her first dance. Oh great. Pressure's on now.*
Reply
(She glances around nervously as well. She can't see him anywhere, but she knows he's somewhere in the crowd.)
Reply
*Okay, he can do this. And... let the dancing commence! He will never live this down ever. He's positive Spy is cloaked in the corner taking pictures with his beard.*

Al...alright.
(And when he starts, she follows. She's really not very good with this, as on the first step, she nearly stumbles.)
S-sorry. I'm not good at this at all.
Reply
Relax. I'm not gonna bite you. This was your idea remember?
Reply
(Still, relaxing doesn't come easy for her. She's partly afraid that she's going to mess this up; that they'll attract too much attention, that she'll fall, that she'll make a fool out of the both of them...
...that she'll give Sniper a bad time.
However, as they take step after step, she finds the tension inside her slowly ebbing away. The music and the gentle sway he's leading her with is really calming, like the lull of a lullaby, and her grip on him slowly relaxes.)
You're...really good at this.
I had the last waltz with you...

*Being one of the tallest people there, Sniper can see over the heads of most of the people on the dance floor. He snickers.*
You're doin' better with Scout if that makes you feel any better.
*Well he hasn't died of embarrassment and no Spies have sprung out of nowhere to make fun of him. Maybe this isn't so bad.
Two lonely people together.
And as much as he doesn't like dancing, his pride will keep him there, making sure Miss Pauling's first dance isn't awful.*
