[Toni feels extremely silly as she approaches one of the bright red mailboxes. This was a thing for kids to do, right? She glances around to make sure no one is watching as she quickly deposits her letter, then briskly marches away before being spotted, her face bright red with embarrassment. She cannot believe what she just did.]
Aren't you a little old to be asking Santa for things? Me and the elves have given all of the good toys to good little children, who aren't selfish - but we managed to find something even for you.
Merry Christmas,
Santa Claus.
Toni will be constantly haunted by a paranoia that her friends and loved ones are hurt or in danger and that she has something very important to do to protect them - but she can't remember what it is. As time goes by, the feeling will get worse as she believes her friends are dying and she is powerless to help them. Talking to them will only make the paranoia worse, and she can constantly hear their screams just around the corner.
