event: april fools' day
If there's one thing the good town of Mayfield is not lacking in, it's a sense of humor. April Fools' Day is a time-honored American tradition, kids, and this year you get to celebrate it along with everybody else! And we do mean everybody else.
On April 1st and 2nd, Mayfield will be hosting a Fourth Wall Event! During this event, the characters' phone network will glitch... more so than usual, that is. This unfortunate error in Mayfield's systems will allow characters in the game to converse with characters out of the game over the phone. These characters will not actually be in Mayfield; rather they will merely be heard over the phones. Isn't that nice? You finally get a chance to communicate with the outside world! At last!
...But something seems a little off about these newcomers. I bet it's nothing!
Characters from any canon or lack thereof are welcome to tag posts made during the event, so feel free to invite your friends to tag! For the purposes of organization, we will require that any post made for the purposes of the event contain "April Fools' Day Event" in the title of the post; a lack of this header will indicate that your post is unrelated to the event, and thus not to be flooded with event tags. Once you've made the post, reply here so players can easily fine it!
While we welcome any characters, the keyword here is characters. No OOC threads, I.E. "mun threads", will be allowed. At the event's end, characters will not be memory-wiped; however, players are free to decide which event threads were not game canon. Backdating comments is totally fine; backdating posts is not. Be sure not to post before April 1st.
While AU versions of normal characters are allowed to tag around, in-game characters should be kept IC. This isn't your usual 4th Wall Event or Junefield meme, and will remain a part of the game plot; thus in-game characters should be kept as IC as possible. Importantly, this event is not an opportunity for bad roleplaying. Players in the game intentionally attempting to start any OOC drama will be punished as severely as they would be under any normal circumstances. If you receive a tag you're not comfortable with, feel free to screen or delete it as you see fit. Try to play nice, guys! Wank makes us sad and then we have to beat up AO. We'll probably do that anyway, but please don't wank.
