I'm so glad I only have to wait 3 or so more days before getting induced (or fewer if he comes on his own).  I feel like every day he doesn't come is being wasted on naps, trying to naturally induce labor, and more naps.  I keep thinking that maybe my body is telling me to nap so that I'll have energy for labor, but I wake up and still only feel ( Read more... )

Today I had an ultrasound, non-stress test (monitoring for fetal heart rate, movement, and contractions), and internal exam with another membrane sweep.  Ultrasound showed 10 cm of fluid (a good range is 5-25).  He wiggled a lot during the non-stress test and each time he did his heart rate increased from about 140 to about 160.  I had one ( Read more... )

Had another appointment this morning.  Lars and I went to the hospital to get our baby seat installation checked, so I ended up being an hour early, but they worked me in.  Theodore's heart rate was high for him (167, I think) when the nurse checked, but then when the doctor checked it was in the 150's.  They think it was just because he was being ( Read more... )

Had another appointment this morning.  I'm about 2 cm dilated :-D  Yes, I could stay that way for weeks, but I'm still excited that something is happening.  Also, his heart rate has slowed from about 150 bpm average to 140 the past couple of weeks and now 134 (it's normal for this to happen).  Too bad he missed his chance at Feb 29th.  Come on out

Last Thursday we had a baby shower at our church.  They had a jungle-themed cake and I got to wear a corsage.  We got lots of good stuff and people stuck to our registry a lot more than the shower in MD ( Read more... )

I had a doctor's appointment today.  It's every week now until the baby comes.  I found out 3 things:

1) The baby is definitely head down
2) I'm negative for group B strep
3) If I were to go into labor now they wouldn't try to stop me
