some art from last semester drawing class (the book arts ones haven't been photog'd yet):

feesh! :) we'd been working with nature drawings, then culture drawings, and then a drawing dealing with the relationship between nature and culture. one non-visual art source i was using was pilgrim at tinker creek by annie dillard, in one passage she talks about "the cosmos" in it's mystery and beauty and danger and what not. another passage she describes this little goldfish she owns, and i decided to go from there. the goldfish represents one aspect of our culture in that we like to be "safe" with our man-made objects and construct with our toys, but in a sense we can miss out on the dangerous and mysterious cosmos around us.

the mondrian pieces are all mixed with rembrandt (one is mixed also with van gogh and another dutch artist). i was kind of exploring an interplay between dutch artists from different time/art periods :)

how is your animation coming along? i'm so excited to seee :D

Love it! I like the combination of master drawings and contemporary art.
And the one with the angel, too. Wonderful work, as always!

Aw, thank you. :D

Yeah, I submitted the application/portfolio package to the Boston school and have yet to hear back. We'll see what happens there. And, no we haven't done much in Life Drawing so far. There'll be lots later on, I'm sure.
