the flights (15 hours or so?) in were actually pretty enjoyable.  good conversations with friends, mostly.  uncomfortable sleeping, but that's to be expected.

today was the last day of sailing class.  perfect day for it.  80 degrees... what?!

i've also recently started working at the climbing wall on campus.  so far, pretty sweet.  particularly chill group of people, climbers.  it also means i'm making slow and steady efforts to be climbing, again.

i'm learning that i don't have to "ace" college or "ace" at life.  i'm making mistakes, and i'm making them well.  i'm trying not to get caught up in little stuff, as God's reminding me that He's so much bigger and better than all of my plans, successes, failures, questions, and worries.

i am reading orthodoxy by chesterton.  i am loving it.  i'd say i'm fairly wary about the kinds of books i poke my nose into where there are clear opinions and biases, and this one has been challenging, thought-provoking, and entertaining.  he's a victorian journalist, but his writing style is still very clear to me, for the most part.  now i'm out ( Read more... )
