Gay marriage

SCOTUS Blog is reporting a filing in federal court asking that the right to gay marriages be recognized under the federal constitution.  Morality aside, it's an interesting move to have Prop 8 in California overturned.  The argument is that gay couples are being denied due process and to legal equity.  While that's true, it doesn't mean it's legal ( Read more... )

That's funny. No, I hadn't.

As I got more coffee, I think the people looking to have prop 8 overturned should also use the "freedom FROM religion" argument, too. The history of marriage is on their side, as it was performed on the steps of the church and was a civil ceremony for most of western history.
